Home Sweet Home

“We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan.” -Irving Townsend

What a beautiful quote. Moments ago I was having a weeping session over my beloved Madam Lasagna. As much as I love and enjoy my new pup, Poppy, I still grieve terribly over the loss of Madam L’s friendship. Thanks for this post and for “liking” my blog post.

    Hello!!
Don’t freak out and think I am crazy, trying to make you buy into a pyramid scheme or am an imprisoned prince looking for bail money!
My name is Lisa Hutchison and I have a blog called ‘Forcing myself happy’ –Basically I will be doing one thing to make me happy every day for 6 months. Today the challenge was ‘Make new friends with the same interests as you’! I noticed that you had one of the same interests as me and so am asking you to be my friend! :D I know this sounds bonkers. But it would be lovely if you could go to my blog and leave a wee comment saying hello.

I wanted to let you know I nominated you for a “Liebster Blog Award”. It’s mainly an opportunity to network with other bloggers that may not have seen your blog and put forward blogs that you like and find new blogs to enjoy. It does take some time and I completely understand if you decide you don’t want to do this. But I enjoy your blog and think others will, too. If you decide to do this, here is a shortlink http://shoefulofdrool.com/. I look forward to seeing you!

“We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle easily and often breached.” — This quote reminded me of the following. — My dogs are my only children, and I sometimes ask my friends who HAVE children, “If you knew that your child would only live to be 14 or 15, would you still have children?” — Most do not have an answer, but they do seem to look at me with a renewed respect for the ‘quality’ love I have for my dogs. Just thought I would share.
